The Alba circuit


A short circuit from Soto de Agues, either side of the Alba river, with a good viewpoint of the mountains around the Alba river. Approximately 4 kilometres, about 66 minutes. The route can be cycled.
 
1. From the large car park in Soto de Agues, cross the bridge over the Alba river.
2. Walk up to the white church of San Andrés.
3. Bear right at a signpost to the Albergue Municipal "El Alba" in the square “Plaza de San Andrés”. Nearby is a faded signpost for the 'Senda Verde: Agues - Puente Precia La Vara.“Puente Precia la Vara”,
4. Follow the cobbled track downhill and out of the village above the river, with occassional white and yellow paintmarks.
5. The track climbs through chestnut woods to a “Mirador” or viewpoint, with good views of Peña Xerragúa and many other mountains.
6. Continue downhill and cross the river at the bridge “Puente Precia la Vara”.
7. You can turn left and follow the Ruta del Alba, or:
8. Follow the Ruta del Alba track past the fish farm (Piscifactoria del Alba) and back to Soto de Agues.
